GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 309624
An addressbook error tells me to check a filesystem path, but doesn't tell me what it is.
Last modified: 2005-11-25 12:07:56 UTC
Version details: from packages Distribution/Version: SUSE 9.3 When I try to open my addressbook, I get this error: Error loading addressbook. We were unable to open this addressbook. Please check that the path exists and that you have permission to access it. But it does not tell me what the path is, so I can't check. (I probably copied the .evolution over from another machine... it was quite some time ago, so I doubt there is an evo bug in the fact that I am getting the error in the first place, but I could be wrong)
could you submit more information, e.g. starting evolution from a commandline and tell us the output? pretty hard to find out what's wrong... also note that evolution stores its paths and settings in ~/.gconf/apps/ evolution/, only data is stored in ~/.evolution. setting bug to needinfo, please reopen if you submit more information.
Like I said, the cause of the error was certainly my own fault. I've sinced fixed it by just moving the ~/.evolution/addressbook/local directory out of the way. The point of this bug was that the error message is bad.
Created attachment 48816 [details] [review] Including the path in the error string.
Fix committed to cvs head.
Joe: Can you please verify this bug with latest evolution build and update this bug ?
