Description Lucas Rizoli 2005-05-22 20:29:46 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The buttons on the palette sometimes become densly packed after making a
selection. If another palette is selected, it will be displayed with the normal
amount of space between its characters, but may also become densely packed after
selecting a character.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select a character from the palette

Actual results:

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
This seems to happen often, but isn't predictable, no matter the current palette
or character.

Before/after image of the character palette

The upper part of the image shows the buttons on the palette as they are
arranged when first loaded (when one enters a session or selects a new palette
from the menu). The lower part of the image shows the densely packed buttons
that sometimes occur after making a selection from the palette.

patch

Please consider the attached patch. It removes redundant calls to gtk_widget_show and thereby moves the _show after the change of style.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-applets/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
