unique stack trace.
Thanks for the bug report. what versions of evolution, libgal and gtk+ do you have?

It is more serious than I thought first. I cannot restart evolution for now. It crashes everytime. *tests* When I start with -c mail, it comes up. So it will be the tasks view. I did use today the function (plugin) to transform a mail into a task. Maybe that is the cause? How can I debug from here?
Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, that stack trace is not very useful in determining the cause of the crash. Can you get us one with debugging symbols (i.e. with function parameters)? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Seems like the plugin could have caused this. What plugin are we talking about? Steps to reproduce this crash from scratch could alsobe useful.
I have recompiled evolution to create a possibly mor meaningful backtrace, copied from bug buddy. I hope this helps: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evolution' Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1". `system-supplied DSO at 0xffffe000' has disappeared; keeping its symbols. I do not know how to reproduce from scratch. Evolution does now crash on various tasks: * sending mail * searching for contacts * viewing calendar * shutting down I am prepared to do further research. The GettingTraces page is a mess. I did recompile evolution to optain debugging information (see last posting) How do I tell bug-buddy to get even more out of it? Do I need to recompile other packages?
here is an other attempt to capture a backtrace using gdb. I doubt it tells you more, but you will tell me: [schaefer@charlie:schaefer] gdb evolution GNU gdb 6.3-debian Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
