GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 303072
Extract dialog broken - selects sub-folder of selected folder
Last modified: 2005-05-24 09:12:13 UTC
Distribution/Version: Gentoo Open an archive ( I'm using a zip archive ) in file-roller. Select the files / folders to extract. Click the 'Extract' button. In the dialog that appears, double-click the 'home' folder. The contents of the home folder are listed in the right-hand pane, *however*, the first sub-directory of the home folder is selected by default. If the user leaves this as-is, the files will be extracted to this selected folder ( which ever folder is the 1st alphabetically listed in the dialog *underneath* the home folder ... or which ever folder was selected from the left-hand pane ). To work around this, the user can CTRL-click the selected folder to de-select it, but this is quite counter-intuitive. I suggest that the extract dialog defaults to NOT selecting a folder in the right-hand pane - this is the behaviour most users would expect.
