Synopsis: gnome-volume-control doesn't start... i don't know why. even if i reboot.

Bugzilla-Version: 2.6.x

Description:
Description of the crash:

 gnome-volume-control

(gnome-volume-control:2044): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to
session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

(gnome-volume-control:2044): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_table_attach:

(...)

(gnome-volume-control:2044): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_table_attach:
assertion `left_attach < right_attach' failed
gnome-volume-control: simple.c:1442:
snd_mixer_selem_has_playback_switch:  l'assertion « elem->type ==
SND_MIXER_ELEM_SIMPLE » a échoué [failed].

Steps to reproduce the crash:

I try to start the "gnome-voulme-control" to make the volume louder or
so on... But i can't get it.

Expected Results:

Before it was working well... I'd like it work again...

How often does this happen?

Everytime now, i don't know why...

Additional Information:

Beep-Media-Player doesn't work (but maybe there's no relation between
both problems). XMMS does work, Audacity too. But the voume with
Audacity is not loud enough, that's why I need "Gnome-Volume(Control"
