GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 271358
Colored hierarchy quoting
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:12:32 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: It would be great to set coloring to heirarchies of replies rather that just have all quoted text as one color as it is now. For example, I can have 3rd level quoting as green, second level quoting as blue, etc. to make reading of replies easier within the context of an e-mail body. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: Expected Results: How often does this happen? Additional Information:
in order to destroy the UI component (as discussed with jpr and dobey), changing component to mailer. could also be gtkhtml perhaps, don't know. please change again if necessary. :-)

The Apple mailer has this, and it's a really handy feature. Would it be possible to implement this as a Plug-in? Also, does gtkhtml handle all mail in Evolution, also the text/plain ones ?
this request is around for more than 2 years. I used to request this but gave up, and now using another MUA, that does coloring, and alot more.
Would be in the EMFormatQuote class according to mbarnes

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
