Description Sebastien Bacher 2004-12-06 14:48:31 UTC
This bug has been opened here:
https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/4373

"1. Read a few previously unread messages in Evolution and remember their names
2. Log out from Gnome without exiting Evolution first
3. Log back in
4. Restart evolution

The messages should still be marked as read. Instead they are marked as unread.

This does not happen if Evolution is closed before logging out.

Mailinglist thread here:
http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-users/2004-December/014065.html"

The same happens when evolution crashes for example ...

If you're using IMAP Evolution has to wait for the server to update
folders. This happens when you change folders, send & receive or
exiting normally (you wouldn't expect a crashed Evolution to do it, do
you?). This can be a very time consuming operation.
On the other side, there are already reports about the shell not
stoping a gnome logout.
Marking as notabug (not because it is, but can't find the base report)

if you read the link given in the bug the user is using a pop3 account.

BTW I'm not sure to understand the full comment. You close it because
that's a duplicate but you don't find the bug number of the dup ?
