Description Mikhail Zabaluev 2004-11-04 12:47:03 UTC
It is possible for spamc/spamd to communicate via a UNIX domain socket.
In fact, it is the preferable method of communication for per-user
deployment, as it affords better compartmentalization and less prone to
conflicts/abuse compared to using a fixed TCP port (the socket name could
be arranged as $TMPDIR/evolution-spamd-<Evolution_PID> to avoid possible
conflicts). It is marginally faster as well.

Forgot to mention that this is unavailable for Windows (if the
spamc/spamd mechanism has been ported to Windows in the first place).
