Description of Problem:

2004-08-29 it has preedit change in gal, but it makes
Japanese input too slow. That must be a bad hack so
remove it now.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Build gal CVS
2. ./test/test-text
3. Japanese input
4. Sloooow

Actual Results:
Slow

Expected Results:
Usable

How often does this happen? 
Everytime

Additional Information:
Input multiple segment and navigate with Ctrl-f or Ctrl-b.
And you'll see it's very bad.
