Description Joe Shaw 2004-05-18 18:33:08 UTC
The "Working (...)" in my statusbar is always there and never gets popped off the stack. They
move off as other things happen (like "Retrieving message" or "Pinging IMAP server"), but they
always return when the operations are finished.
Comment 1 Joe Shaw 2004-05-18 18:33:45 UTC
Oh, these are in the snaps from 12 May (the latest available right now), but this has been
an issue as long as I can remember running 1.5.x.
Comment 2 Joe Shaw 2004-05-18 18:37:22 UTC
Another bug implies that this has something to do with spam filtering.
I have spam filtering turned off.
Comment 3 Not Zed 2004-05-21 02:58:47 UTC
can you run evo in gdb and get a backtrace of all threads?

if it never goes away it should mean something is still running, or we
have a ref leak.
Comment 4 Not Zed 2004-05-21 08:07:45 UTC
don't bother with the bt- i've managed to see this, and recreate
fairly reliably. and yeah its something to do with junk.

the bt isn't any help either. sigh.
Comment 5 Not Zed 2004-05-21 09:51:25 UTC
so uhh, i can't recreate it anymore.

i changed a bunch of code there, so i might've fixed it; although i'm
not convinced of that.
Comment 6 Jeffrey Stedfast 2004-05-25 17:02:21 UTC
I was also seeing this somewhat reliably (even with no spam
filtering?) but haven't seen this in a while now
Comment 7 Not Zed 2004-05-26 08:44:30 UTC
should we close in the hope its fixed?
Comment 8 Joe Shaw 2004-05-26 21:13:35 UTC
yeah, seems to be fixed to me in newer snaps.
Comment 9 Robert Davis 2004-10-05 16:29:33 UTC
Still happening in evolution 2.0.1. I move messages to junk that my
email server filter misses and I don't have filtering enabled in
evolution.
Comment 10 Not Zed 2004-10-11 06:52:54 UTC
can't reproduce anymore
Comment 11 Joe Shaw 2004-10-11 15:52:56 UTC
me neither, using 2.0.1
Comment 12 Not Zed 2004-10-12 06:02:59 UTC
rob: how are you "moving" the messages? just hitting the "junk" button?
Comment 13 André Klapper 2004-10-19 00:55:23 UTC
*** bug 265743 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 14 Robert Davis 2004-10-20 19:25:20 UTC
Yes. Just hit Junk button on toolbar. Usually in the morning I will
have 5 or so and sometimes will notice I have the working.. prompt.
Actually had 2 one time.
Comment 15 Chris Hanson 2004-10-31 18:11:56 UTC
This is happening to me on a regular basis. I use evolution 2.0.2 in
Debian unstable. I am _not_ using junk filtering.

I am using a recent version of Cyrus IMAP. I have many different
folders, and I regularly file messages from my inbox to other folders.
The bug seems to have something to do with expunging a folder, but I
am not certain about that. Currently I have two "working ()" messages
showing.
Comment 16 Not Zed 2004-11-01 11:17:50 UTC
backtrace please.

no use saying 'me too', if i can't see it.
Comment 17 André Klapper 2005-06-02 19:33:32 UTC
thanks for taking the time to report this bug; however, closing due to lack of
response, sorry (7 months should have been enough for an answer ;-). if you have
time and can still reproduce the bug with a current version of evolution, please
read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html and add a description of how to
reproduce this bug and reopen it.
