GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 247558
Cannot copy-paste attachments from nautilus into composer
Last modified: 2009-12-03 05:56:23 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1) Start evolution mailer and compose a new mail. 2) Open a nautilus window, browse to a folder containing, say jpeg image files. 3) Select an image file, and choose Edit -> Copy. 4) Go to the new mail message window, click on the body of the message and choose 'Edit' -> 'Paste' Actual Results: Expected Results: The image file should be 'attached' to the mail message. How often does this happen? always Additional Information:
"edit | paste" refers to the *text* of the email *body* and NOT to the attachment pane. so still not working in evolution-2.1.4.0.200502040900-0.snap.ximian. 10.1 - a bounties issue perhaps.
only the local file location is inserted as text, but not the image itself. workaround: use drag and drop from nautilus to the evo composer.
Bumping version to a stable release.
See also bug 551464, which may potentially be a dupe of this or this a dupe of that, or they may just be similar (I don't know enough about the relationship between GtkHtml & Evolution's mail composer to be able to say).
I agree. Closing this one as a dupe since your bug has more discussion. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 551464 ***
