GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 246823
mail windows do not remember their size
Last modified: 2005-02-14 11:27:54 UTC
Description of Problem: I have formatted mail messages that display best with 80 column or wider mail windows. Previous versions of Evolution remembered the size of my mail reading window (maybe it was the size of the last closed window?). Evolution 1.4.0 doesn't remember the size of these windows, so I have to resize them by hand every time I get one of these messages, which is often. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Double-click on a message. 2. Make the window wider. 3. Exit Evolution. 4. Start Evolution back up. 5. Double-click on a message. 6. Notice that the window is not as wide as before. Actual Results: The message windows seem to default to some size each time you start Evolution, and do not remember the size you left them at between application runs. Expected Results: Behave more like previous versions of Evolution. These windows should remember how big you like them, save that size somewhere so that Evolution can open new windows in that size even if it's been shutdown and started back up again.
This came up in conversation, so I'm going to add tigert to the Cc: line for input. If this is indeed a regression, should it really have a Wishlist priority?
2.1.4: mail windows remember their size, but not their position. added this piece of information to bug 201362, marking this one here as a duplicate because it's the same underlying reason. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 201362 ***
