Description Vesa Halttunen 2003-03-29 13:57:08 UTC
Description of Problem:
GNOME 2.2 has a new notification area that can be
used to notify the user about certain events using
icons. I'd like to see Evolution to use this area
to notify the user about new E-mails.

The GNOME Inbox monitor applet is very limited
(only one mailbox can be monitored) and Evolution
could do a much better job. It could also be a
background task that uses the Evolution mail
backend to check for E-mail and can launch "full"
Evolution when necessary.

In other words - I'd like a replacement for the
Inbox monitor applet that uses the Evolution mail
settings and the notification area might be a good
place for this to run.

I second this.
