Description gaj70 2002-11-07 02:32:17 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Critical
Version: 1.0.8
Synopsis: crash on launch
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer

Description:
I get a segmentation fault error every time I launch evolution. If I
ignore/cancel on
the pop-up bugzilla window, evolution continues to the home page w/o
email
support.

The shell window shows the following warnings:

evolution-shell-WARNING **: Error setting owner on component
OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent -- CORBA error

evolution-shell-WARNING **: Error changing interactive status of
component OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent to TRUE --
IDL:CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0

evolution-shell-WARNING **: Error changing interactive status of
component OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent to FALSE --
IDL:CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0

I use SUSE 8 Personal edition, and am something of a linux newbie.

Evolution worked well for several months on this computer, then suddenly

started to crash. Unfortunately, I do not remember what software
'updates'
I made at the time. Hardware is unchanged.

This bug happens with the SUSE version and the Ximian website version
of Evolution.
