Description Richard Zach 2002-07-21 18:27:27 UTC
This is a continuation of bug 201587, which asked for a way to be able to
reply to or forward message/rfc-822 attachments (either ordinary
attachments, such as forwarded messages, or multipart/digest). This is now
possible in 1.1.x, but:

1. It doesn't work for attached messages, only for multipart/digest

2. The way it works for digests isn't optimal: Most of the time, I just
want to read the digest, so when I look at the message, I'd like to *see*
the messages in the digest. Right now, I have to click to "View
messages", evolution opens a message list, then I have to put focus on
the first message to get it into the preview pane, then I have to click
on each message or tab through them using '.' to read them.

If I just want to *read* the message, I should only have to open the
digest and then use the scroll wheel to scroll through it.

So:

1. Digests should be displayed expanded (a la 1.0.x) so that I can read
them without having to deal with an entire new folder window.

2. In order to be able to forward, save, copy, etc multiple messages,
the option to open the digest in a folder window (with message list and
preview pane) should be retained (ie, a button "Open this digest as a
folder")

3. There should be an attachment icon with drop-down menu for each
message (with all the options of the message preview context menu, so
that I can print, save, forward, reply to, etc. each message
in the digest without having to open a new folder window individually).
The same should work for single attached messages.

(I set this to Normal rather than Wishlist since I suspect almost everyone
getting mailing lists as digests will really really want (1) above.)
