Description Clayton Hynfield 2001-11-08 16:21:42 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Wishlist
Version: 0.99.0
Synopsis: Should be able to drag email messages into Tasks
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Shell

Description:
In Outlook, which is what it seems Evolution is striving after, I
enjoyed being able to take an email message where someone was asking me
to do something, and drag thatmessage into my Tasks folder. There, a
new task would be created, the name of which was taken from the subject
of the email message, and the notes would be taken from the body of the
message.

Additionally, I could drag either an email message or a task into the
Notes section, which appears to be completely missing from Evolution,
and it would create a new note.

This interoperation between the sections of Outlook, and Palm
synchronization, were the primary reasons why I switched away from Linux
to MS Windows and Outlook in January. I had heard that Evolution was
making some serious inroads since I switched, so I decided to come home
and try it again. I just got Palm synchronization working (stupid GNOME
control-center incompatibilities), but it'd still make my work a lot
more smooth if I could just create Tasks out of email messages.

Thanks.

Yeah, this would be cool. As far as I can tell, it's planned for 1.1.
