GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 211579
Misleading menuitem names. Postponing messages is hard. =)
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:02:48 UTC
I clicked "Send Later" on a message, and it put it in my Outbox. Whenever I opened Evolution later on, it appeared to be trying to send it during the Send/Receive dialog, but always failed, and I figured this was just how it dealt with Postponed messages.. but I left Evolution open overnight and at some point it actually sent the mail. Now that I am writing this bug, I finally have figured out what "Send Later" is for, but it is still very misleading. I think "Save to Outbox" would make more sense. I suppose "Save Draft" is what I wanted, but the wording is not very good, I think. I think "Postpone Message" would be more intuitive.
A UI polish item to look at in the 1.1 timeframe.
Because of the decision to remap 1.1->1.2 and 1.2->1.4, I'm going to be moving a large number of bugs around in the bugzilla. You can just search on 'body contains' 'Because of the decision to remap' and mark all as read. Please direct all questions about this change to evolution@ximian.com, not the bug. Luis

This menuitem is going to be changed to either "Save in Outbox" or "Save to Outbox". I need to talk to a few more users before deciding which preposition to use, and will submit a patch very soon.
alternatively we could make Send deliver it to Outbox and do away with the current Send functionality. This would make it behave more like Outlook according to Keelyn
this is no longer an issue.
