Description andy80 2001-09-06 13:51:53 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Major
Version: 1.0
Synopsis: If a public key isn't found, Evolution doesn't let me to select one from list
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer

Description:
When I send and e-mail with evolution and I want to encrypt it using
gpg, if the puclic key isn't found I can't select one from list of my
publickey ring.

You should add this function to Evolution.

Comment 1 Jeffrey Stedfast 2001-09-06 19:54:52 UTC
*sigh* this is such a royal pain in the ass and will require a massive
rewrite of the pgp code which I really don't want to do. so this ain't
gonna happen for 1.0.
Comment 2 Tim White 2002-01-13 19:26:38 UTC
Just a suggestion, but in the interim, how about have a field in the
gpg option config screen, that lets you specify what application you
want to start to manage your keys. There has to be an xapp that lets
you add/remove/edit key information.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2005-01-14 18:29:17 UTC
updating version number, still missing in 2.0.3
Comment 4 André Klapper 2005-02-07 15:18:52 UTC
hmm... is this already a duplicate of bug 217269 or just a dependency?
Comment 5 below 2012-01-09 09:43:21 UTC
Still open in 3.2, 10 years...
Comment 6 Kip 2012-01-09 21:00:16 UTC

[Kip: Please keep comments technical.]

Patches welcome.
Comment 8 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:12:38 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
