Description zbeckman 2001-08-04 01:51:45 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: P4
Version: 0.12.99
Synopsis: Messages deleted on IMAP server not marked deleted in Evolution
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer

Description:
If I open two clients to my IMAP server mailbox, then use the non-Evolution client
(Outlook) to delete messages, they do not show up as deleted in Evolution (even if I
close Evolution and restart it). However, if I delete a message in Evolution, within a
few minutes, it shows up as deleted in other IMAP clients (Outlook, Mozilla, etc.) The
only workaround seems to be closing Evolution while I'm not using it. This causes
Evolution to properly perceive already deleted messages as just that. So, it boils
down to this: Evolution seems to keep unread &/or undeleted messages in some
kind of local cache, not checking the IMAP server to change their status.
