Hi,

In Debian bug <http://bugs.debian.org/271849>, Riccardo Lancellotti suggested
that the behavior of Gedit or its spellchecking plugin could be changed to save
the dictionnary set when editing a file.

This would save the trouble of selecting the dictionnary manually when one opens
some files which are in different languages.

Regards,

Yep, good idea. So good that we did it in 2.10 :-)
