Description Alan Horkan 2005-03-29 01:53:29 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I'm running a modified garnome 2.10 setup

when i attempt to run totem it appears to come up and then immediately disappear
and I'm left with only this warning message and no option to continue with
limited functionality.

Totem could not startup.
Could not access device "/dev/dsp", check its permissions.

This happens every time.

I just wanted to test if a file would load in totem, I didn't care about the
sound.

totem --version reports Gnome totem 1.0
