GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 171929
Refuses to run without "/dev/dsp" (which iirc is sound)
Last modified: 2005-03-29 06:41:35 UTC
Please describe the problem: I'm running a modified garnome 2.10 setup when i attempt to run totem it appears to come up and then immediately disappear and I'm left with only this warning message and no option to continue with limited functionality. Totem could not startup. Could not access device "/dev/dsp", check its permissions. This happens every time. I just wanted to test if a file would load in totem, I didn't care about the sound. totem --version reports Gnome totem 1.0 Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time?
