The Gimp use folder default :
C:\documents and settings\USER NAME\...
When special caracter are used in the user name like a "ù" there is a message:
Failed to open 'C:\Documents and Settings\Eru Il?vatar\.thumbnails\normal\gimp-
thumb-1732-db0d823a (invalid encoding)' for writing: Invalid argument
