Description lineymo 2005-02-21 16:26:48 UTC
Version details: 2.9.91
Distribution/Version: Ubuntu Hoary

Right click on Drawer in Panel
Select "Add to Drawer"
Select "Custom Application Launcher"
Click "Add"
Fill in Name, Generic Name, Comment, and Command fields
Click "No Icon"
Select an Icon
Click "OK"
Click "OK"
Result: An Icon is added to the drawer which will launch the application,
however no text is available next to the icon.

The reason I am requesting this is because I make a drawer full of icons for
launching rdesktop to connect to multiple Windows terminal server sessions and I
can't tell which one is which without floating over each icon and waiting for
the Tooltip popup.

Thanks

I guess what you want is what is described in bug #152862. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, is correct. I see that discussion on this was last fall. It doesn't look
like there has been any movement, however. Is there a place where I can go to
see if activity has occurred?

Anyway, thanks for the quick response.

There's nowhere else where it was discussed. There's however a possibility that
this gets implemented for 2.12. I'm not sure yet. It depends on how well my
plans will work :-)
