GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 167295
Keyboard Volume Shortcuts
Last modified: 2005-08-15 03:08:08 UTC
Distribution/Version: Fedora Core 3 I think it would be useful to include keyboard shortcuts to control the rhythmbox volume slider. I think that Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down would be good choices.
You can make global shortcuts for this with gnome-keybinding-properties - this is even better, as it works globally.
global volume shortcuts aren't even better, because the rhythmbox volume control specifically adjusts the rhythmbox volume.
The problem with global shortcuts is that it doesn't do anything for balance between applications. And from a usability standpoint, it seems like a basic action like volume adjustment should have keyboard shortcuts.
