GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 167008
-w and --version should not require DISPLAY to be set
Last modified: 2011-02-25 05:20:59 UTC
Version details: 2.6.8 Distribution/Version: Debian unstable Quote Pedro, the original submitter: " If I run "glade-2 --write-source myfile.glade", it seems to require an X11 display, but I think it shoudn't. If I am generating/compiling a glade-2 project in a remote machine, I receive the following error: (glade-2:6027): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: As a workaround, I need to export DISPLAY and authorize with xhost." See: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=293059
It was changed a few years back so it didn't require an X connection. I'm not sure why it needs an X connection again now. Maybe it is the session management code. I'm a bit wary of changing the startup code sequence. I'll probably break something else.
glade-legacy development has been stalled and it has been unmaintained for a few years now. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing the bugs as WONTFIX. Please feel free to reopen the bugs in future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development.
