GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 164780
power connection status always claims "System is running on AC power" with ACPI
Last modified: 2005-01-21 02:27:53 UTC
Please describe the problem: The power connection status icon always shows the power plug icon and the tooltip claims "System is running on AC power" even when my system is running on the battery. The tooltip for the "battery status" icon (green battery) says "** mins till charged" when discharging *or* charging (I think the number of minutes is accurate however. It correctly says "Battery charged (100%)" when the battery is charged. While the system is charging, the power plug (correctly) has a flashing lightening bolt over it. I've been using this system since GNOME 2.6 (I think) and using kernels from 2.6.8.1 to 2.6.10 both unpatched and patched with various acpi.sf.net releases. /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/AC/state correctly shows either: state: off-line or state: on-line /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state correctly shows whether it is discharging or charging. Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
