I have tested the current CVS HEAD and 2.14.1 using LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 and I can not replicate the bug.

Probably this bug is obsolete. May you confirm?

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

Depending of the output and the current locale it hangs.
