Description Filip Van Raemdonck 2005-01-18 12:18:42 UTC
From Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=279910

---
gpdf doesn't render ligatures properly. For example, see "def ning" at the start
of Section 4.4 of http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/2004/webarch-20041105/webarch.pdf
---

(That's on page 29 of that pdf file, it should be defining)

Same issue can be found on Solaris / JDS, using

% gpdf --version
Gnome gpdf 0.132

Page 3 ("Contents") on
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-5789?a=load
http://docs-pdf.sun.com/817-5789/817-5789.pdf

contains several "fi" ligatures that don't display:

"Solaris Operating System De__nition 13"
"Writing the Loadable Module Con__guration Entry Points 27"
"Writing the Autocon__guration Entry Points 31"

Closing WONTFIX. GPdf is no longer maintained. Please use evince for your pdf
viewing needs.

http://www.gnome.org/projects/evince/

Evince has no problems with ligatures in this file.
