Description Chandrashekhar. Korlahalli 2004-12-29 08:23:28 UTC
search is missing in yelp. But, it is available in JDS.

Justification:
It helps blind / low vision users.
Comment 1 John Fleck 2004-12-29 17:22:44 UTC
Perhaps the people responsible for JDS could send their patch upstream?
Comment 2 padraig.obriain 2005-01-05 09:23:25 UTC
In JDS a Java application, jds-help, not yelp is used to display help.

This bug is a request that a similar search option be provided in yelp.

I hope my interpretation of this comment isn't right. Sun don't use yelp to
display docs in JDS? And still they block yelp from GNOME 2.10.0 because of a11y
regression with the gecko engine? Strange...

Just to clarify, JDS uses a javahelp-based browser by default, but switches to Yelp automatically if you turn
on accessibility support, as Yelp in its current form is more accessible (but less functional). This is
obviously bad on many levels :)
