$ chmod a-w file.glade
$ glade-3 file.glade

Now save the glade file.

Notice that the shell displays I/O Error: Permission denied
and the UI displays "Project file.glade saved"

Fixed in LIBGLADE_INTEGRATION branch.

Note that you need the latest version of the patch
on bug 161903 to compile LIBGLADE_INTEGRATION.
