GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 158077
Error in MP3 playback
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
load an mp3, neccesary libraries for gstreamer are installed for mp3 support
not really helpful as is... Can you describe more in details what happens? Did you try what is described in Rhythmbox README? What did it say?
The problem is that rhythmbox --debug does not show anything about the error, when I load up mp3's into rhythmbox it loads some, than acts as if it is continuing to load, but no more songs are added to the play list (about 200Mb out of 10gb load up) and it continues to do this, and when I try to close the program, I need to use gnome's force quit function as it will not close on its own. I also just used the 0.8.8 version and got the same problem, hope this helps.
Oh ok, I totally misunderstood the bug report then, sorry ;) This is probably caused by some jpeg files (or any small file) present in the directory you are trying to import. This will be fixed by the next gstreamer release which is due in a few weeks. This problem is already described in bug #158018 so I'm marking this bug as a duplicate. If you feel this is a different issue, don't hesitate to reopen that bug. Thanks!
