GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 156691
no report of bottom panel after switching to it
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Using gnopernicus 0.9.16 and gnome panel 2.6.1 - Start gnopernicus and enable speech - Hold <CRTL> + <Alt>, and press <Tab> until the bottom panel is selected. - Release <CTRL> + <Alt>. Notice that the bottom panel is not reported by gnopernicus, even though it is activated. This works for the desktop and it also works for any other panel that is added to the screen. Note that braille monitor reports the bottom panel and also use <Meta> instead of <Alt> in Solaris.
This is same as #156466. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 156466 ***
This is not the same as #156466. As far as I can see, the patch that solves that bug does not solve this bug. When the bottom panel has been selected using <Alt><Control>+<Tab>, gnopernicus speech doesn't report it. This is supposed to happen after the panel switcher dialogue has gone.
The patch that we are talking about is the one from bug 156466, comment 3. This patch fixes the problem. It was tested for Gnopernicus 0.9.16 with patch (on Cinnabar 21 Linux and Solaris). Are you talking about this patch ? Using this patch gnopernicus reports for <Alt><Ctrl>+<Tab>, "status bar" and ("desktop" or "bottom panel" or "braille monitor" if the brlmon is on). If the keys are released and 'bottom panel' is selected gnopernicus outputs " switch to window bottom panel" and the current_focused_button from the bottom panel. Is this what you expect?
Yes, that is the expected behaviour. The bottom panel wasn't reported upon selection for me.Are you using the Sun CBE and were you testing on a Sun build?
Yes, we used for tests Solaris 10 build 69 CBE with Cinnabar21 and Gnopernicus from cvs gnome-2-8 branch 10.28.2004 with the patch attached to bug 156466 comment 3 applied.
