Description Daryl Stimm 2004-10-15 19:32:09 UTC
If you have dual monitors and you have a panel on the left screen and are using
the windows list applet, it only shows the windows on THAT screen until you drag
it over. for example:
I have my top panel on my left screen, if I open a window and drag it from the
left screen to the right screen it disapeers from the window list applet, until
I drag it back to the left. This is a very annoying bug because that would
require me to have a panel on both screens, which takes up alot of space. is
there a way to resolve this issue though gconf or is there a patch that I dont
know about? Iv tried gnome-panel 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 and it exsists in both
versions (unless the windows list applet isnt included with gnome-panel)

Just wanted to say that I've confirmed this on gnome window list 2.8.0.1 on
gentoo linux.

Have the same problem here aswell.
Comment 5 Angela Charon Brooks 2004-10-26 16:46:26 UTC
someone mentioned this issue already regarding libwnck where they keep a diff
list of opened windows per screen. I experience this issue here with nVidia
twinview as well. Not sure about Xinerama users though.

If it gets really annoying, then maybe downgrade the libwnck to 2.6.x then you
get the single list windows again.

Best Regards,

Downgrading to libwnck 2.6.x did indeed fix the problem!

Why the change in 2.8, will this be corrected?

Probably today, or at least fairly soon.
