gpdf cannot render the quickguide.pdf distributed with evolution. This is
particularly bad because it means on a stock GNOME install you are not able to
access Evolution quick guide (the default pdf handler is used).

ggv displays it correctly. gpdf just does not render it, no crashes, no error
messages.

The pdf opens fine here with gpdf 2.8.1.
