Description Ken Harris 2004-09-15 08:43:02 UTC
On the Mac, you can command-click in the titlebar of a window, and it'll show
you the folders that document (or folder) is contained in, and let you open any
of them easily.

I've been missing this feature in Gnome, so I decided to write a (hacky!)
implementation of it. See:

http://bitpoetry.com/programs/metacity-parent-menu/

Comments (and patches!) welcome.

Is this the same bug as 145400?
Comment 2 Ken Harris 2004-10-25 04:49:37 UTC
Not quite. He wants to show Nautilus' context menu (Open, Browse Folder, Open
With, ...), as if you'd right-clicked the folder. I'm proposing to show the
parent folders, like the Mac does, similar to the thingy in the bottom-left
corner of a Nautilus folder.

I also would like it on all windows, not just folder windows (though they are
the obvious first step).
