Problem:
Create Nautilus script
Place in $HOME/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts
Edit script with GEDIT to 'fine tune' script
Script mysteriously disappears from Nautilus' view

Resolution:
Managed to fix by removing references under
Go to APPLICATIONS/DESKTOP PREFERENCES/ADVANCED/FILE TYPES AND PROGRAMS
Scroll down to MISC
Remove key referring to x-shellscripts (note there was no name, just icon)
Nautilus recognizes scripts as usual...
