GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 150337
Rhytmbox should scan default music folder at startup
Last modified: 2005-10-06 03:30:15 UTC
When starting Rhytmbox it doesn't scan the default music folder, so when new songs are dumped in the default folder, they have to be manually added to the Rhytmbox library.
Yup! This is definitely something that's been bothering me too... Please, for the love of God, just add some "Refresh library" menu entry to the 0.8.x branch - it doesn't have to be super-fast - it just has to do better than nothing... Nothing worse than when you've just added like 100 songs from your friends iPod and then have to either add them manually (drag n' drop from Nautilus) or empty the entire library and import it again...
If you use "Import folder" again, it should pick up the new tracks and skip over any that are already in the library.
