GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 149729
Add "rejected" status on a patch
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Sometimes the approach in a patch is just plain wrong, or someone adds a patch to a bug which is WONT-FIX, or the maintainer and patch submitter agree that the patch is not the way to go, and some unspecified future vapourware will allow people to do things "the Right Way". In those cases, it would be nice to have a patch review keyword which said "Thanks, but no thanks", rather than givinbg the impression that if the patch were improved it would be accepted. Sometimes patches are just plain rejected. Do people think this would be a good idea? Dave.
Sounds good to me. Luis, Andrew: okay if I add such a status?
Added. And d-d-l has been spammed about it (http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2004-August/msg00349.html). :-)
