after inserting text into an image, if i use the scrollbar to look at fonts, the
whole thing shuts down, have tried in a new image with nothing but text, have
tried with a pasted image and after a few scroll downs, it always crashes

Hi,

This looks like a duplicate of a frequently reported bug, bug #101856. This has
been fixed in more recent versions of the GIMP. Please consider upgrading to
2.0.4 when a build is available for it.
