Description Jeff Waugh 2004-07-26 03:58:08 UTC
Some properties tabs are more important in certain contexts, such as the
Launcher tab when you're checking the properties of a Launcher. It'd be cool if
the label were bold, and at the top-most position by default.

(I gather this requires some extensions love too, but not sure which component
is correct.)

I think people will consider tab shuffling random and the result of a bug. I
usually remember the position of a tab, so this would seriously break stuff, at
least for me. Shouldn't the really important info instead go into the first tab
anyway? Maybe we should just kill the launcher tab and put all launcher-editing
widgets into the first tab for launchers.

I've had this same thing happening.

Testing with various files I've noticed the properties dialog only crashes if the file being right clicked on has more than one available program to open with.
If the file has only one alternative, or none, the properties dialog does open correctly.

BTW: Where in Gconf (or elsewhere) are stored the preferences for the default app for mime types? Due to this crash I can't change these, and I'd like to.
