Because those files are generated (and contain the build prefix, for example, so
that checking them out produces innecessary conflicts)

Please remove them.

Also, the various Makefile and Makefile.in found under ./help right now should
not  be there either...

All .../help/<locale>/...omf.out, .../help/<locale>/Makefile and
.../help/<locale>/Makefile.in files have been removed from CVS HEAD.
Thanks for reporting this. It was a problem caused by merging the 
gcalctool-ng branch with CVS HEAD.

You should remove the ./help/<locale>/omf_timestamp files, as that is what
omf.make's little mind uses, and it gets confused.

Okay, the .../help/<locale>/omf_timestamp files are gone as well.
Thanks for keeping an eye on this. Changes in CVS HEAD. I won't
make another tarball of the 5.5.X gcalctool series until Sami has
had a chance to fixup some of the known problem.

Please re-re-open if there are any other spurious files in CVS HEAD. ;-)
