GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 148022
Crash after "Connect to server"
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I was going through the Nautilus manual, trying to add a remote location to my "Places" menu in spatial mode - apparently that's not possible, but anyway... I did a "File->Connect to server" and entered in the server location (URL) field ftp://username:passwd@server and in the "Link" field (what does that do, anyway?) I put "/photos" which is a relative path to the root of the FTP server (my best guess for what that field meant). Since doing that, when I open up the Computer to browse it, Nautilus dies. I think the / at the start of the link field might be the problem. What does "Connect to a server" actually do, anyway? Cheers, Dave.
Found the links - I had mounted a volume on my desktop, and once I unmounted it, the "Computer" object worked fine again. Dave
