Description Power PC 2004-07-20 11:17:22 UTC
Description of Problem:

What I really really really hate when using the
gnome file selector is that fact that it does not
respond to key presses. In every other desktop I
have used (Windows, KDE, Mac) when opening a file
I can type the first few letters of the file I
want and it will move the focus to the closest
match. In GNOME, you can't do this. You have to
scroll for the file. Really a pain in a directory
with a lot of file in it and it really slows me down

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open nautilus

2. Let say i want to open file in my home
directory named "zeroinstallguide.html" and there
are other 100+ files

3. I press "z" on keyboard and nothing happens

Actual Results:

Nothing happens !

Expected Results:

The first file with starting alphabet "z" should
be hilighted

How often does this happen?

Always
