Description Michel Alexandre Salim 2004-07-15 04:05:18 UTC
Virtually any new notebook released recently do not connect their optical
drive's audio output to the sound card; thus Gnome-CD does not output any sound
since it could not play CDs digitally (i.e. ripping at 1x speed and playing back
the WAV)

It would be nice to see this feature supported; for code you could refer to
xmms-cdread which does the same thing.
