Description Thomas M. Hinkle 2004-07-09 05:44:44 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable
Package: totem
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.6.1 0.99.12
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: Totem crashes when esd is running
Bugzilla-Product: totem
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: 0.99.12
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.6.1.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Totem crashes when I try to open a file requiring sound while esd is
running.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. esd &
2. double click on a movie or music file in Nautilus
3. Totem opens and says "No file." After a brief pause, it crashes and I
get a
    bug-buddy report window.

Expected Results:

Music file plays.

How often does this happen?

Any time I attempt to play a file when esd is running
Additional Information:

I'm using a debian unstable system

totem 0.99.12-1
nautilus 2.6.2-1
esound 0.2.29-1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Support
binaries
esound-clients 0.2.29-1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - clients
esound-common 0.2.29-1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Common files

Gnome is not apparently configured to use esd on my system -- rhythmbox
does not use it either. Both totem and rhythmbox work fine without esd
running.
