Description Alan Hamilton 2004-07-08 22:58:06 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 2 (Tettnang)
Package: gnome-vfs
Severity: major
Version: GNOME2.6. unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: Nautilus and other apps crash with specific fstab
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-vfs
Bugzilla-Component: File operations
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.6.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Upon startup, the taskbar appears but the desktop stays black. An
"application exited unepxectedly" alert appears. Other applications
(such as gedit) crash when accessing a file dialog with a similar
stacktrace.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Enter "startx" (for Nautilus) or select File->Open in gedit.
2.
3.

Expected Results:
Desktop appears or file dialog appear.

How often does this happen?
Every time, but see below.

Additional Information:
This seems to be related to entries in ftab related to a USB flash drive
in /etc/fstab. If I remove the last four lines, it works fine.
