Description Loïc Minier 2004-06-12 16:18:43 UTC
When I'm editing my keybindings, I can bind "Goto workspace on the left" (this
is a retranslation of the french entry) to <Control><Alt><Left> and "... right"
<><><Right>. However, if I click to change the keybinding and press my "Back"
or "Forward" key, I see <0xea> or <Oxe9> (respectively) in the "keybinding"
column, but the keybinding simply won't work at all when I press "Back" or
"Forward".

Strangely, bug:#143000 requests support for these keys, but I can perfectly type
them in the Keybindings applet.

I confirm the behavior is still present in 2.8.1 (Debian's 1:2.8.1-3). I still
get the 0xea and 0xe9 hexcodes, and they still don't do anything when I press
the key.
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2005-07-15 13:12:12 UTC
No, bug 143000 was about supporting them for what they're supposed to do (ie. Go
back and forth in a web browser), not for just binding actions to them.
The bug you're seeing is a bug in metacity.
