GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 143390
multiple instances
Last modified: 2005-12-30 20:02:23 UTC
If you call "epiphany" script immediately after itself, epiphany starts multiple instances. Steps to reproduce: 0) Close all Epiphany windows, and start GNOME Terminal 1) Type http://www.gnome.org/ in GNOME Terminal 2) Control-Click the underlined link _twice_ within a short time period Expected results: Epiphany starts and opens 2 windows with www.gnome.org within each window Actual results: Epiphany starts up two instances. First instance opens www.gnome.org, and second instance presents the crash recovery dialogue.
Even easier to reproduce by just typing "epiphany & epiphany &" in a shell.
Not sure how much we can do about it ... I guess it's matter to figure out what is slow to start before the bonobo interface is activated.
Gnome terminal doesnt seem to open urls on click here (it does only from context menu). Though I tested it with evolution and I cannot reproduce. I wonder if it's debian related since seb128 had a similar issue. "epiphany & epiphany &" is probably unrelated. It opens multiple instances even if there is already a previous running instance. Not sure what's the deal there.
Actually "epiphany & epiphany &" works fine too here. I was confused...
Mass reassigning of Epiphany bugs to epiphany-maint@b.g.o
This will probably be solved by going DBUS in 1.10.
Perhaps the patch that detects self launch could be used here too?
This is going to be solved by the dbus patch. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 322463 ***
