When I open the font type dialog and scroll down the application crashes right 
before I reach the bottom of the list.

A colleague of mine is experiencing the same problem so I guess this isn't just 
me...

The error message is the follwing:

** (gimp-2.0.exe:1372): WARNING **: Unable to load unicode charmap from font 
file C:\WINNT\fonts/wingding.ttf

** (gimp-2.0.exe:1372): WARNING **: Unable to open font file 
C:\WINNT\fonts/wingding.ttf for font Wingdings 16, falling back to 
C:\WINNT\fonts/8514fix.fon

** (gimp-2.0.exe:1372): WARNING **: Error in FT_Set_Char_Size: 23
