GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 143038
Centered workspace switcher does not disappear if right alt key is used.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Description of Problem: The window that appears in the centre of the screen while using key combinations of CTRL+ALT+[ARROW KEY] to switch workspaces in GNOME does not dissapear automatically if the right alt key is used rather than the left. Preference of ctrl key used does not seem to affect it. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Switch workspaces using left ctrl+alt+[arrow key]. Works fine. 2. Switch workspaces using right ctrl+alt+[arrow key]. Switcher window doesn't automatically disappear. This happens every time I do it using the right alt key. No idea WHY it happens, sorry :/ Possibly useful info: Generic 105 key keyboard Running fairly clean installation of Fedora Core 2 final Happens on two different PCs (albeit with simmilar configurations) Athlon XP (2500+) Cheers, -jEFF
I should have been clearer; by "not autmoatically disappearing" I mean that the window does not disappear as soon as the keys are released- one must click off the window or press a key. -jEFF
I do not really understand why it is marked for libgswitchit. Does this problem disappear without the GNOME Keyboard Indicator applet on the panel?
No. I think I may have reported it under the wrong category by mistake... I was led to believe by a contact that the desktop switching panel was known as 'libgswitchit', although it seems now that is not correct. If this could be moved to the correct category it would be greatly appreciated.
It's an xorg setup issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 142947 ***
